Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC)
VSAC provides student loans, Vermont grant applications, and resources for students and families hoping to pay for college or other post-high school training. The goal of the organization is to ensure that all Vermonters have the financial and information resources to pursue a higher education.

Community College of Vermont (CCV)
CCV’s services are open to anyone who can benefit from them. They currently offer:

  • Immigrant and Refugee Scholarship Program
  • Pre-college level courses in reading, writing, math and computing
  • College Essentials: a course offered in partnership with Vermont Adult Learning specifically for ESL students
  • Conversation Partners: a group that helps new CCV students build meaningful relationships with native English speakers, develop English skills, become immersed in the mainstream American culture, be involved in CCV cultural events, and have fun with community members.
  • College-level courses and Associate Degree programs.

Payment: All financial aid, aside from scholarships, is need-based. In addition to the scholarships, refugees are eligible for in-state tuition (half the rate of out-of-state tuition) after living in Vermont for one year. Refugees, with Department of Homeland Security approved permanent resident or eligible non-citizen statuses, are also eligible to use Vermont and federal financial aid.
Application: Students must apply for the scholarship programs by  filling out a one page application. The applications are available through the financial aid offices and academic advisors. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Translation services are not currently available for these forms.

Champlain College
Champlain College offers classes online and on campus. There are 30 areas of study for undergraduate students and 10 at the graduate level to prepare students for a profession in their chosen career.

 The University of Vermont

The University of Vermont has 100 undergraduate, 50 graduate, and 24 doctoral programs, as well as courses available for continuing education. Classes are offered online and on campus, helping students develop professional skills for their career of interest.
