The Good Food Truck (through Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf)
Last season, the Good Food Truck provided over 2000 free meals to low-income Vermonters around Chittenden County. The truck operates between June and November across six different locations. Customers with a household income at or below 18% of the poverty line qualify for a free meal each week.

JUMP: Joint Urban Ministry Project
JUMP helps a limited number of people per day on a first come, first serve basis at their drop-in center in downtown Burlington. In order to receive services, you will have to bring identification for everyone in your household and plan on waiting for several hours. JUMP provides vouchers to local participating businesses (voucher value is based on family size). Vouchers cover:

  • food, medication, laundry, transportation and identification
  • thrift shop clothing and household items
  • utility assistance

Intervale Gleaning and Food Rescue Program
Income eligible community members and social service agencies sign up in June for a 12 week free food share (July-October). For individuals and families, the share averages 8 pounds of local vegetables a week and for social service agencies the share averages 20-50 pounds a week (depending on how many individuals are being served). Along with the share, participants and agencies are given a copy of Eat Fresh, Buy Local, a resource guide that we have developed, supplying them with information on how and where to access fresh, local food throughout the year, beyond the 12 week program.
